What you need
- APN settings from your network provider
- Android smartphone (referred to as smartphone)
- USB charging cable
- Sigfox Access Station Micro with accessories (referred to as gateway)
Download the Sigfox Access Station Utility app in Google Play on the smartphone
Setup the gateway like this:
Gateway → ethernet cable → IoE injector (splitter) → power supply adapter → power outlet
Open the Sigfox Access Station Utility app on the smartphone.
Enter something random in the fields and click OK:
Connect the USB charging cable to the smartphone and the gateway.
After connecting the USB cable between the smartphone and the gateway, it should say Access station connected at the bottom, and details should be shown in the top box.
If not, try to reconnect the USB cable and/or restart the app until it works.
Click on the menu in the top right corner and choose Network management:
Click on Cellular
You can now enter the APN settings from your local SIM-card provider and click on Update configuration in the bottom:
However, we recommend to remove the PIN-code from the SIM-card instead.
You should then see this confirmation. Click OK.
Disconnect the USB cable from the gateway and the smartphone and close the app.
Insert the SIM-card into the 3G/4G dongle and connect it to the gateway.
The gateway should now try to establish the connection, and once successful, the LED will light solid green.
If not, try to restart the gateway. Make sure there are GSM connectivity.
Check in one of the Sensohive Web Portals that data is being received.
Voila! You can now use the gateway with a SIM-card from your local provider.
