Smart Yields

Crop protection & yield enhancement

Founded in 2015, Smart Yields is a Honolulu-based agriculture technology company that connects farmers, researchers and their communities through real-time analytics gathered from a long-range network of integrated, state-of-the-art sensors. Managed in an easy-to-use mobile app, this system helps protect crops, optimize operations and increase yields.

Smart Yields recently launched an extensive pilot program with the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union in Colorado, covering nearly 1 million acres and supplying dozens of fruit growers with data that has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in high-value crop losses.

Smart Yields’ global expansion also includes markets throughout Asia, via Hong Kong’s Cyberport Incubation Programme, and Europe, via the InnovationQuarter and The Hague Business Agency. This global expansion lays the groundwork for Smart Yields’ development of regional Centers of Excellence to share and refine best practices across the agricultural sector – from agronomy to sustainability to workforce development.

Smart Yields is globally recognized for its innovative approach to agriculture technology. The company was one of nine companies from around the world to present in the inaugural Laudato Si’ Challenge tech accelerator in Rome. This year, Smart Yields was also named Hawaii’s Most Innovative Company in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Awards, Editor’s Choice Category.

Sensohive is a key partner for Smart Yields as we continue our global expansion. Sensohive sensors have been implemented in our Late Spring Frost Alert system in Colorado, helping a community of farmers save energy costs and protect their buds and tree crops. Sensohive sensors and Smart Yields software work seamlessly together to provide real-time agricultural insights, transforming the way the farmers, researchers and their communities collect and use data.
